Basic Statistics

It is impossible to read and sensibly interpret data in scientific texts and the medical literature without some understanding of the mathematics of statistics.  The objective of here is to review the common statistical terms and to provide understanding of the most commonly used statistical methods. Articles include the following topics:

Lacking basic numeracy skills is a critical disadvantage to those wishing to be able to interpret medical texts and to communicate scientific terminology. This module is not intended to compensate for innumeracy but to remind the student of various mathematical conventions frequently encountered in the literature and in discussion.
