The renewed interest in home hemodialysis (HHD) and the recent emphasis on quotidian HD deserves an in-depth analysis of the various modalities and prescriptions currently available and their impact on clinical outcomes, patient lifestyle, and cost of provision of therapy. This module reviews frequent HD therapies in general, the relationships among dose, time and frequency, clinical advantages and associated costs.
